From high noon to neon-lit midnight, from the hum of a strip light to the gleam of the moon, six spot-lit writers trace the course of light through the day in a series of newly commissioned poems. What’s illuminated, what stays in the shadows: follow the poets as they bring the day’s discoveries into the light.
We’re commissioning new pieces from Raymond Antrobus, Malika Booker, Holly Corfield Carr, Jane Draycott, Caleb Klaces and Richard Price, which will be combined with some classics into a show celebrating National Poetry Day, topping off a packed day of events at the Southbank Centre for NPD Live.
Beginning to See the Light is commissioned by Jaybird Live Literature and The Poetry Society, in association with Southbank Centre, and the whole lot is funded by Arts Council England.
£8/£4 concessions, and available from the Southbank Centre website or via the ticket office at 0844 875 0073.
