Featuring visiting poet Sholeh Wolpe.
Calling all exiled writers: share your work in a creative circle. Bring two poems or short prose to share and talk about.
Sholeh Wolpé is an award-winning Iranian-born poet. About her poems, The Poetry Foundation writes, “Wolpé’s concise, unflinching, and often wry free verse explores violence, culture, and gender.” Wolpé ’s numerous literary works include her modern translation of The Conference of the Birds (W.W. Norton) by 12th century Iranian mystic poet, Attar, hailed by Reza Aslan as a translation that “is sure to be as timeless as the masterpiece itself.”
