Julia Bird works for the Poetry Society and as an independent literature producer and promoter at Jaybird Live Literature. She created Poembola, #TheDarkisReading, and A Joy Forever with Mike Sims. Now You Can Look was inspired by the lives of various artists from the 1930s and 40s. “Bird’s is a poetry of ideas, but unexpected, often extraordinary ones” TLS
John Clegg’s first collection, Antler, won an Eric Gregory award. Captain Love and the Five Joaquins is a tale of the Old West with illustrations by Emma Wright. John works at LRB bookshop and writes its unique Twitter feed. “No poet writing today matches John Clegg for wit and rigour.” Dai George
Emma Simon was a Jerwood/Arvon Mentee and her work was included in The Very Best of 52 and Writing Motherhood anthology. Her debut pamphlet Dragonish was published last year. “Dragonish really whets the appetite for the full debut collection that will no doubt be warmly greeted in a few years.” Jonathan Edwards
The Emma Press is dedicated to producing beautiful, thought-provoking books. It won the Michael Marks Publishers Award in 2016.
