It’s that time of year again! In one of London’s favourite traditions, The Poetry Society and the Royal Norwegian Embassy are once more encircling the Trafalgar Square Christmas Tree in poetry, to celebrate the City of Oslo’s annual gift to London with generous support from The Northbank and Fox Rodney. (Find out more about the project)
This year, A.F. Harrold has written a new poem, ‘The Friendship Tree’, inspired by poetry written by pupils from Westminster primary schools. His poem will be displayed around the base of the tree for the remainder of the festive season.
Apart from seeing the lights switched on in Trafalgar Square at 6:00pm, the ceremony will include a reading of the poem by St Joseph’s Primary School pupils, the official unveiling of the poem and lots more festive fun. Come and join us for this festive tradition, celebrating poetry in the heart of our capital city.
