Mandy Pannett third in BHAC Poetry Prize

Poetry Society Member Mandy Pannett was third in the Brighton & Hove Arts Council Festival Poetry Competition, won by Liz Fincham, with fellow Members Jean Hall, Robert Hamberger, and Jacqueline Hutchinson picked as joint runners-up. 

Brighton & Hove Arts Council was founded in 1974 by a group of enthusiasts to support and promote the not-for-profit arts sector in Brighton. This was their first ever Poetry Festival and was headlined by Carol Ann Duffy, who announced the winners. The competition judge was Dr Jess Moriarty – Course Leader of English Literature at the University of Brighton.
