Clean sweep for Poetry Society Members in Segora Competition

Poetry Society Members took all three places in the top three in this year’s Segora Poetry Competition.

First prize went to Ruth Hanchett for ‘Endgame’, second to Carolyn King for ‘Fall and Rise’, and third to Jane Lovell for ‘Blackbird’.

Ruth, from Enfield, is also a member of The Poetry Society’s Palmers Green Stanza. Carolyn, Isle of Wight, won the Poetry on the Lake International Competition – Formal Category this year, while Jane, Kent, was second in the  Open Category of the same competition. 

Poetry Society Members Brian Clark, Jane Lovell (again), and David Jones taking their places among the Highly Commended poets.

This year saw a record entry for the competition, judged by Roger Elkin.
