Jane Satterfield wins Ledbury Poetry Festival competition

Poetry Society Member Jane Satterfield (USA) has won the 2015 Ledbury Poetry Festival competition, judged by Deryn Rees-Jones, for her poem Forfeit. Jane wins £1000 and a course at Ty Newydd. Jane was the winner of the 2011 Mslexia Poetry Competition.

Second prize goes to Poetry Society Member Rosie Shepperd (London), who won second prize in the 2013 Cardiff International Poetry Competition and was published in The Poetry Review in winter 2014 and autumn 2012. Third prize goes to Nisha Bhakoo.

Among the Commended poets is Poetry Society Member Maeve Henry (Oxford), commended in this year’s Hippocrates Prize, and is on the shortlist for the Live Canon Poetry Competition.

Former Foyle Young Poet winner Daniella Cugini won second prize in the Young People 12-17 category.
