Liz Lefroy wins Cafe Writers Poetry Competition

Andrew McMillan has chosen Liz Lefroy‘s poem ‘This Is Not To Exaggerate’ as the winner of this year’s Cafe Writers Poetry Competition from very close to 2,000 poems entered. Poetry Society Members Suzanna Fitzpatrick and Christian Wethered were chosen as second and third prize-winners respectively, with Society Member Elizabeth Soule winning the Funniest Poem category.

There were Society Members among the Commended poets too: Jeremy Dixon, Ama Bolton, Sarah Doyle, and Katy Evans-Bush. Sarah Fletcher, a former Foyle Young Poet, received an Honorary Commendation.
