Louise Greig wins McLellan Poetry Competition

Maura Dooley presents 1st Prize to 2017 winner Louise Greig

Poetry Society Members Doreen Gurrey, Anne Milton and Susan Utting have been Commended in the 2017 McLellan Poetry Competition, won by Louise Greig for her poem ‘Mrs Miniver was a fool about inanimate objects’, and judged by Maura Dooley.

The McLellan Poetry Prize is awarded by the Arran Theatre and Arts Trust as part of the annual McLellan Arts Festival. Now in its eleventh year, past judges have included Kathleen Jamie, Robert Crawford, Jackie Kay, Peter and Ann Sansom, Michael Laskey, Simon Armitage and David Constantine.
