Education Officer

A full-time, permanent position in central London
£24K plus pension contributions

The Poetry Society is the UK’s leading poetry organisation. Join our committed team as a full-time Education Officer to work on a number of ambitious national projects. You will support the development of young people’s programmes, including the delivery of one of the world’s largest and most prestigious poetry competitions, the Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award, maintaining its reputation as a significant stepping stone for new writers. You will also help to organise SLAMbassadors spoken word championships and school participation schemes, support emerging talent and create imaginative new projects with a range of exciting partners.

Candidates will have at least two years’ experience of managing and delivering participation and learning projects in the arts sector and thrive on working to deadlines in an energetic creative environment. The role requires excellent organisational and writing skills, confidence in organising live events, and a demonstrable enthusiasm for literature and working with young people. You will enjoy developing digital content and using social media and be confident with project management, from planning through to evaluation. You will be able to work both independently and as part of a small team.

The Poetry Society is an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation.
