The Poetry Society is pleased to present a special reading of both children’s poetry and adult poetry from award-winning poet Kate Wakeling, held at the NOW Gallery on the Greenwich Peninsula, London.
The event is one of seven literary events to tie in with NOW Gallery’s exhibition, ‘The Mouse and His Child’, named after the children’s novel by Russell Hoban. In the exhibition creative duo Studio Morison have created a sculptural space containing a library of children’s fiction written by adult fiction authors, such as Ursula Le Guin, John Steinbeck, Mary Shelley, and Virginia Woolf. Kate Wakeling‘s first poetry pamphlet The Rainbow Faults was published by The Rialto and her first collection of poems for children, Moon Juice (illustrated by Elīna Brasliņa) is published by The Emma Press, won the 2017 CLiPPA Prize and was nominated for the 2018 Carnegie Medal. photo credit: Tom Weller
