We’re pleased to announce the launch of The Dancing Boy by Michelle Diaz and Well by Graham Clifford from Against the Grain Press and featuring guest readers.
Michelle Diaz has been writing since the late 90s. She started performing her poems in 1998 at Covent Garden’s Poetry Cafe. She has been widely published, both online and in print. She was awarded 1st Prize in the Christabel Hopesmith Poetry Competiton 2018, judged by Wendy Cope and Lachlan McKinnon. She has a son with Tourette Syndrome and had a very unusual upbringing, both of which have been huge inspirations for her writing.
Graham Clifford’s fourth collection is concerned with investigating the scraps of information which serve as clues to understanding. Whether these clues come from writers, paintings, interactions with family or work colleagues, plants and fauna – they all serve to support an emotional triangulation that informs these poems. The collection is a determined grab at reason in the midst of so much which is intangible. Graham’s work has been widely published, anthologised, reviewed, translated and performed.
