Join us for the third Verve Poetry Press London launch event of 2019!
Katrina Naomi will be launching her wonderful and much praised pamphlet Typhoon Etiquette. We still don’t know what we’ve done to deserve to getting publish a poet of this calibre and stature. Katrina’s poems depict her experience of Japan, its culture and its poetry. They do so with the often surprised, but also astutely accurate voice of a poet who gets to the heart of what she sees. Her questioning approach is a valid one – not all she finds should be accepted, but there is much – oh, so much – to be embraced and enjoyed. Typhoon Etiquette is a stunning assembly of poems.
Hannah Lowe is a poet who we admire so much! Her performance at Verve Festival 2018 was lauded as a festival highlight and we are thrilled to welcome her to help Katrina Launch her pamphlet and to read from a recent pamphlet of her own – The Neighbourhood published by fabulous indie poetry publisher Outspoken Press.
Hear these two poets read from their work, and discuss the residency and the funded journey that helped bring them into the world in a dynamic Q&A. Both authors will have copies of their pamphlets to sign after the show.
Like so many of the other excellent events at The Poetry Cafe, this is an evening not to be missed!
Tickets are FREE but are likely to be popular – please book to avoid disappointment.
