How can students who grew up in violent homes, experienced sexual abuse in childhood, or have experienced sexual violence in relationships or on campus balance the coping mechanisms they need to deal with their past with the stresses of university life?
This free workshop from The Consent Collective is open to former and present university students or members of university staff who’d like to learn more about how experiences of any form of sexual violence or domestic abuse may have an impact on their experiences at university. We’ll talk about managing exam stress, work deadlines, other students, navigating a hook-up culture, managing your own self-care, seeking support and how you can find the tools and people who might make a difference. With contributions from people who’ve been through it and come out the other side, as well as input from experts in the field.
18 + only.
This event is about and for people who have experienced any form of sexual harassment or sexual violence. These sensitive topics will be discussed throughout with the focus being on adapting to life after abuse, rather than the nature of the abuse itself.
