Islamophobia Awareness Month 2020

November is Islamophobia Awareness Month, and – through poetry – we are pleased to support MEND (Muslim Engagement and Development) in their movement for change towards a less divisive and more inclusive society.

A look through our publication and project archives reveals a wealth of great work by and inspired by Muslim writers to inspire you in turn.

Poems include ‘At Hajj’ by Amaan Hyder, work by Al Saddiq Al Raddi, ‘Ramadan 2019’ by Fatima Zahra and work by Tasnima Ahmed.

Reviews, articles and round ups give us Momtaza Mehri’s dispatches from the Black Gulf. Aria Aber’s deep dive into her poem ‘Fata Morgana 1987‘ and a selection of reading suggestions for young Muslim poets.

You can find out more about the movement here and via #IAM2020 / @IslamophobiaAM on Twitter.
