Success for Carolyn King and Sharon Black – Poetry on the Lake

Isola da Orta Poetry Society Members Carolyn King and Sharon Black have won this year’s Poetry on the Lake competitions. Carolyn, from Isle of Wight, won the Formal Category; Sharon, from Gardoussel in France, won the Short Poems category.

There was further success for Poetry Society Members. On the Formal Category shortlist were Carole Bromley (York), A C Clarke (Glasgow), Michael Swan (Oxfordshire), Andrew Robinson (Truro), and Michael Shann (Walthamstow).

In the Short Poems category, Brian Clark (York) was Highly Commended and N J Hynes (Greenwich), was on the shortlist. 

The adjudicators were Christopher North, Anne Stewart, and Kevin Bailey. The annual Poetry on the Lake festival is held at Orta San Giulio in Italy, the antique island on Lake Orta, northern Italy.
