Artworks commemorating the Great War
17th Feb – 12th Apr 2014
The students and staff of the BA(Hons) Illustration course at Middlesex University present forty new images responding to stories from the First World War, from the poetry of Robert Graves to tales from the home front and battlefields abroad.
The Poetry Café has hosted several successful shows by staff and students from the course including The Haunts of The Poets and Happy Birthday Edward Lear.
Middlesex illustration students have won many accolades over recent years including the Observer/Cape/Comica Graphic Short Story Prize and D&AD awards and have a reputation for producing innovative and exciting imagery. All the work is for sale to raise funds for the students’ degree show. Prices start at £50 for framed prints and original artworks, so you can pick up a poetry inspired work of art at a bargain price and support a young and upcoming illustrator at the same time.
