The Poetry Review: Vol 108, No 1, Spring 2018
In this issue, we look back to W.S. Graham in his centenary year, with the publication of both drafts of his poems and his sketches. We look to the future with new poems by Anthony Anaxagorou, Fiona Benson, Hannah Lowe, Kathryn Maris, Mona Arshi and many others, alongside translations of Kim Hyesoon and Igor Klikovac. In our regular exchange with Poetry magazine, we publish Ange Mlinko’s essay on Marianne Moore and Pierre Joris’s translations from Paul Celan’s ‘Microliths’. Harmony Holiday, Wendy Cope and Choman Hardi have contributed their poetry manifestos and Andrew McMillan writes on Tom Paulin. In review we have Douglas Dunn, Penelope Shuttle, Danez Smith, Cal Freeman, Ishion Hutchinson and an anthology of new Palestinian poetry. We also publish the top three winners of the National Poetry Competition: Dom Bury, Mary Jean Chan and Momtaza Mehri.
