Natasha Blinder Commended in Christopher Tower Poetry Competition

Congratulations to this year’s winners of the Christopher Tower Poetry Competition, announced today at a ceremony in Oxford.  

Ashani Lewis, from The Tiffin Girls’ School, Surrey, was awarded the £3,000 first prize for her poem ‘Flowers From The Dark’ by judges Alan Gillis, Katherine Rundell and Peter McDonald.

The winner of the second (£1,000) prize was Safah Ahmed  with ‘Accent’. The third prize went to Sophia West, who won £500 with ‘The Awakening’. Their schools also receive £150 each. 

Commended poets, who each receive £250, include Poetry Society Youth Member and Foyle Young Poet of the Year 2015 Natasha Blinder, Ed Pryor, and Grace Fraser.
